This show was spectacular.  Jillian is a brilliant public speaker.   She made a genuine connection with the audience.  She used the stage well and she was animated without being over-the-top.

Janice was positively HILARIOUS in the Q&A session, and the repartee between the two of them was wildly entertaining.

I have listened to every episode of the podcast.  I started listening to it at a very dark time in my life.  (I had lost my job, gone through a horrific breakup, and gained back about 50 of the 80 pounds I had previously lost and kept off for 3 years.  I remember thinking "well isn't this great.  I'm unemployed in an unforgiving economy, devastatingly heartbroken..and to top it all off I'm an elephant again!"  I had given up and decided to sleep all day in a dark basement and eat pizza and watch old episodes of Gilmore Girls all night.  (An ill-advised job search strategy and an even more ill-advised weight loss strategy.) When I turned 29 I realized I could keep falling down the rabbit hole and spend my 30th birthday wearing a mumu and eating potato chips or I could turn things around.   It was really hard to get back to going to the gym and eating properly after such a major detour.  In searching for things to motivate me, I stumbled on the podcast.  Listening to Jillian talk about learning from her failures really inspired me.  There was even one caller who was unemployed and was looking at the 'time off' as an opportunity to get her health in check, so I decided to do the same.   The podcast got me through all the workouts, and also helped me through the torturous process of looking for a job.  (I did find one eventually!)

Given how much the podcast meant to me, I was afraid the show might not live up to my expectations.  It didn't.  It exceeded them.  It wasn't one of those cliche "positive thinking/love yourself/peace on earth" inspiration talks that sounds like a series of hallmark greeting cards strung together. (Or worse, a lifetime made-for-tv movie).  It was an authentic account of the struggles and triumphs of a real woman, replete with cautionary tales, gut-splitting humour, gut-wrenching truths, thought provoking questions, and practical wisdom.

I love the last post!! I have listened to nearly all her podcasts and love them so much.  But because I have done that, I wondered is going to the tour really worth it? Have I heard all the inspiration I can get? Now I know that I NEED to go :)

I was only hesitant because the closest one is about 3 hours away (Fox Theater in Detroit) and I'd be going by myself, which is something that I have a hard time doing (I'm only 23 and poor with directions..hahaha).

However, it sounds like this is something that I need to do for myself. It will be one of my good/healthy rewards for myself that Jillian always talks about. And it will require I step out of my comfort zone for a bit.

Also, I'm so happy to see that Janice will be there! I'm just as excited to see her. I love those two!

A few questions, how long does Jillian speak for? Do I really need the VIP ticket or is just the show plenty of time to hear everything?

I went to the Seattle show also. I think the VIP ticket was totally worth it ... just for the great seat alone! Plus, the Q&A with Jillian and Janice is awesome. I got to ask Jillian my question, which was very cool. The Show itself is typically 2.5 hrs long, but ours was longer and ended up being 3 hrs long and then the Q&A was an additional 30 min. Whether you get VIP or not, it will still be one of the best nights of your life! I loved it so much! It was a dream come true!

I just attended the Atlanta show and was blown away. The first half was sort of what I expected: nutrition and fitness advice, practical tips - a lot of which I knew, but I still learned a few things. The second half went so much deeper into evaluating what makes us who we are and leads us to the choices and habits we have today. I told my husband it was like she took a plunger to my life and loosened the biggest old ball of crap that has kept me stuck for years. So much to think about. What I thought was my goal, really isn't - I enthusiastically am going back to the drawing board! She also didn't junk it up by bringing former contestants on stage or have too much supporting video - she talked a lot and the time FLEW by. Worth every cent. I hope she gets her talk show - I for one will be a viewer!

got the opportunity to see Jiilians show at Westbury, New York. unfortunately I had eye surgery two weeks ago and Iam still healing so alot was blurry for me. However from what I could see, She was amazing. If she was looking to connect with her fans than that goal was obviously surpassed. she was incredibly funny and very intelligent and informative on many levels. of course Janice was fuuny as hell during Q and A. the best way to do this tour is as a vip. however the layout for this venue was great no bad seats. good thing my ears work fine cause really thats all I need to do was listen.

I went to see Jillian last night and thought the first half was great. My thought was, it would have been great if she could answer questions from the audience in the second half. Maybe when you first come into the auditorium there would be paper and pen and those who had a question would write it. While she was on for the first half, her "people" could be going thru the questions picking out those that might appeal to the most people, and she could address those in part of the 2nd half. I know you can buy tickets that include a meet and greet but not everyone can afford that, and I think it would make the 2nd half a bit more interesting.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I found her to be fun and informative. I don't think I will buy red meat anymore from the supermarket! I have various DVD's of hers and a book, and feel great after getting through one of her workouts.

If she came back to my area, I would probably go again.smile

I went to the show in Philly last night. Isn't it funny how you think you know what you need to know and then you listen to Jillian and throw out a good bit of what you knew biggrin

I splurged on the VIP ticket as I deserved to treat myself (lost 63 pounds in last 48 week). I also didn't worry about going by myself and it was great at the show because EVERYONE was so friendly. It was like we were all there united in our desire to share a good experience. Jillian was great as of course she has the knowledge but she was very skilled in clearly communicating it to you in a fun way. She's a blast in regards to her humor. She just seemed so open and down to earth.. one of us. It felt like we saw a different maybe more accurate version of who Jill is at the show. All in all she's a woman I have no problems admiring and letting people know that.

Since no spoilers, I will generically say I have a few things I want to specifically work on which I feel I have a bit of direction where I didn't before. Since I was a VIP I got to stay for the extra Q&A session. This was great as it was Jillian off the cuff. Plus Janice is hesterical. It was late but they kept me awake and attentive to what they were sharing. Maybe after the tour we can discuss more about the content of the show. I look forward to that.

Thanks Jillian for a great evening and for much to act on smile

~Ali
